Christmas in July

Hi everyone, Gwen here today with a Christmas in July share, can you believe July is nearly over already!!  Be sure to get your last minute entries into the sketch challenge, we so love seeing your Purple Pumpkin creations and there is nothing quite like the chance to grab some FREE Purple Pumpkin!

Now you will all know by now it is nothing for me to use one or two buttons on a page and today's share is no different - this one has a total of 5 buttons on it!

I've mixed the spotty buttons with a floral print and mixed and matched the white and red.

I've used them to complete my flower clusters and the heart button (below) I used to balance out the layout and feature near my title.

and  now you have seen all the yummy buttons, here is the full layout.  This one was taken a few Christmas's ago now, 2008.   I know, I'm a bit behind - I get nervous scrapping Christmas for some reason!!

Now onto those challenge entries everyone, lets see you all using those buttons in your stash!

Hello everyone! It's Chantal with you today...

How's it going?  Did you grab yourselves a bargain at the big 2nd Birthday Sale?  If not, you may still be in luck!  You can check out what's still up for grabs at Purple Pumpkin's store.

Today I'd like to share this layout which was selected to be in the top 20 traditional entries for the Scrapbooking Memories & Expertise Events BLACK AND WHITE PLUS ONE competition, here in Australia.

I didn't end up winning, but I mainly did it for the challenge and my daughter Heidi absolutely
loves this page!  :)

I have used lots of "scraps" on my page.  Amongst these scraps are quite a few off-cuts of
Purple Pumpkin's hand-dyed doilies.  I know I've probably mentioned this before,
but in case you missed it, I actually hardly ever use a PP doily "whole" on my pages.
So when I mean "whole" I mean that I cut them up!  :)

So I thought that showing this layout would be a very good example of how I claim that I
don't let any of my cut-up doilies go to waste.  Here's the proof!  LOL!

Also included on my layout are PP cute li'l rose cabochons.  These are sooo easy to use.
I seem to use them up sooo fast!!!

I didn't get to see all the entries to this competition, but I've seen a handful of them online and
I love each and every one of them so much!  It would of been fantastic to see them altogether!

I hope that I may of inspired you to cut up your doilies and use up even the littlest scraps to
add that something special.  :)

Thanks for looking and have a great week!

Cheers!
Chantal! :)

Rollin' around & Ten - By Crece

Happy Sunday Morning to you and your family. Hope you have had a great week and were able to grab an awesome Lucky Dip from the Purple Pumpkin Sale.

Today I would love to share with you 2 layouts I have done.

The first called 'Rollin' around' is a layout I have recreated. I hated the original layout back when I did it 3 years ago so i pulled the pics off and started again...and this is what I came up with...

This close up shows a blue doily, yellow tag and green spotted button on a bottle cap all from Purple Pumpkin

Here is a large spotted orange button and small green doily. I love placing the buttons over doilies :)

A cool way to use the twine, is crossing it over your photo makes for a great type of border.

And onto the 2nd layout...
This is a layout of my oldest Son Andy on his 10th Birthday...

Half a vinyl cog from purple Pumpkin

And this cute red/white star button, fluffy red button and blue doily

Thanks for looking, and dont forget to enter the Sketch Challenge for Purple Pumpkin...there are still a couple of days to get your entries in.

Congrats ladies! Please email us at purplepumpkincrafts@hotmail.com with your postal address and which Lucky Dip you would like.

Boys will Be Boys....

While visiting my best friend, i had a photo opportunity with Liam. After 100 photos later, i decided i better stop. But this is my only time i get the boy pics to scrap unless middle daughter acts like a Tom-Boy which sometimes happens or i miss out!

I loved Anna's Craftcupboard July Sketch this month.

And my creation:

I just love the layered lollipop which really pops out on my layout. And Purple Pumpkin buttons are the best! I just had to add the cute little bug button too...

The Scrapmatts chipboard matches boy themed layouts perfectly and ties in with my embellishments from PP really well...

Are you ready for the Lucky DIp Bags??? You won't want to miss out on these...
So make sure all the kids are alright, housework done and be ready!!!!

Cricket Presentation Day by Sar

Today I have a layout to share with you from the November 2011 He's Savvy Kit from Scrapbook Savvy.  This was an awesome kit and one you can still get a hold of here.

My layout is called 'Cricket Presentation Day' and features my son Cooper very proud as he got his medal for Milo Cricket...plus his very proud Daddy & Poppy standing by.

I have used a pretty heavy misting on my background to add some interest...and added to my kit some awesome embellishments including a button and twine from the Purple Pumpkin store.

A closeup of the spotty button...can one ever have too many spotty buttons in their scrapbooking stash?  I think not!  You'll also see the twine which I have placed across my page, stapling as it fell...you really can't argue with twine too much, it goes where it wants to go...you just staple it down and move on!

Not long now till our big birthday sale...stay tuned this week for some awesome sneak peeks and excitement plus.

See you around!

Cheers,
Sar

A little bit Vintage

Happy Saturday to you all Purple Pumpkin Fans!

Here today to share a few vintage inspired projects.... I just love how versatile PP is, from funky kids layouts to neutral Vintage projects, there certainly is something for everyone.

See the cute lil pattern button sneaking out from my flower cluster?  It was the perfect touch for my layout.

and here is it.... My daughter as a flower girl at my Nieces wedding.  She had the best day....and yes, that is me too in the pic :)

I have also created these 2 cards, featuring the sweet little bird buttons.

So whatever your style, there is a Purple Pumpkin button for you!!

Be sure to play along with our challenge this month too, we really love seeing your creations.

"Baby girl" by Vicky

Hello everyone!

As I've already told you, I am currently on vacation but (of course) I took some scrapping stuff along with me! So I made this layout for "Child's play challenges" as I was their guest designer for July (thank you Tiffany!).

My layout was inspired by the round shapes of the inspirational photo on their blog and of course I used watercolors to make a few circles and splatter some paint around using the tip of my brush! It would be a great idea to combine their challenge with our sketch!!!

I guess you must know by now that I can't live without Purple Pumpkin embellies...LOL! I've used a few doilies and 2 buttons on this one!

So,That's it for now! You have a lot of time to play along! Anyone can enter our challenge and you don't necessarily need to use PP products. Just check out our rules tab on the top of the blog!
Sale date 27th of July!! Yeah!!!
Have fun!

Hello! It's my turn today! :)

Hi Purple Pumpkin fans, Chantal with you today!  I've got two layouts to share with you all.  The first layout is called "Blowing out the Candles"...

Here I have created my own "flame-like" paper using acrylic paints in white, yellow and orange.  I've also decorated my title with a white gel pen to mimic the diagonal stripes on the birthday cake candles, and the Red Baker's Twine.

I've used a Purple Pumpkin fabric button and I've wound the twine around it, then made a loopy trail, following the flow of the photos.  I've made a little twine bow and adhered it to the trail - so it appears to be part of the trail, although it's actually not. :)

I had a little knot in my piece of twine so I adhered this to the top right of my layout as is.  So where this is positioned, actually looks like it's attached to the above mentioned twine too.  ;)

Here's another layout I've just created, using similar PP products as above...

On my layout, "Feeding Big Ben", I've used a Black and White Spotty Dotty button (my fave PP "staple"!!!) and Grey Baker's Twine... plus a super cute little rose cabochon... they are so cool to use!!!

I love using PP's buttons like this sometimes - just peeking through. ;)

Please don't forget about Purple Pumpkin's massive $100 Giveaway!  You can check it out right here!

TFL & cheers,

Chantal :)

Good Litte Mummy by Sar

Good afternoon lovelies :)

Today I would like to share with you a page of my littlest girl Bronte.  In these photos Bronte is being a 'Good Little Mummy' and feeding her baby doll some lunch, god love her.

I have gone messy again in this one, use a clear texture paste mixed with mist for colour, as well as some glimmer mist sprayed onto my background.  I have used the WOW Altamatz for the cirles in my background, placing them on the cardstock and misting over them.  Also some black paint thrown in for good measure!

Here is a closeup of my cluster featuring some Purple Pumpkin goodness including the ever popular owl button and a stunning yellow doiley.

I've got to be in the right mood to create a page like this...basically just GOING FOR IT and not thinking too much.  Learning more and more to just 'get it done' as there is always so much scrapping to do!

Thanks for visiting the Purple Pumpkin Blog today.

Cheers,
Sar

Share....

Well today i would love to share a layout which is based on the latest challenge at Daring to Scrap

Its always a challenge for me to create a boyish layout considering i have 3 girls
But i loved the hessian button and the bright doiley....

They look great layered together with a bit of twine drapped over the centre.
I also added a few tickets which i cut in half and placed around my layout.

Well i hope you enjoyed looking at my creation for today. Have you checked out our monthly sketch???? There are some great prizes up for grabs...you have to be in it to win it they say!!!

Your new bike - by Crece

Hello everyone, hope your week has been great. I'm feeling heaps better this week and manage to get a layout together to share with you today.

This layout is of my older son Andy, he got a new bike last year for Christmas, and I have only just got around to scrapping the pic.

This is a close up of some white/teal twine I have wrapped around the star cut outs from Kaiser Craft. I also used this cute little boy button from Purple Pumpkin that I have had in my stash for a little while now and thought the colours worked well with the papers I have used.

And another close up of some red/white twine wrapped around another star.

Hope you have a fantastic week, and keep an eye on updates on the Purple Pumpkin facebook Page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Purple-Pumpkin/141808655854158

And also on the Purple Pumpkin 2nd Birthday Event on Facebook

Thanks for looking
