Hi From Sarah G :)))

Well, it has taken me all morning to download this page - blogger is not playing nicely this morning for me!! Anyway, I'd like to share this page with you. It is a simple one (by my standards) but I really love the photos and I wanted them to really be the focus of my page. I took them on our summer vacation back in January. We took the girls to visit a vintage railway. It was one of those beautiful summer days when everything feels perfect. The girls were wearing their summer dresses and hats and they reminded me of one of my favourite childhood stories - the Railway Children.
I wanted to make the page look girlie and a little bit 'modern vintage'. I used Kaisercrafts gorgeous ''Tigerlilly' collection as my base, and dressed it up with a little hessian (frayed at the edges), spray ink and ofcourse that absolutely gorgeous Purple Pumpkin button. Now I have had this button in my stash for a while just waiting for that perfect page to use it on - and this was it! I mounted the button on the reverse side of a Purple Pumpkin die-cut circle which gives it a 'lacy' edge and really makes it stand out as a feature on my page. I will try to upload a close up photo - cross your fingers that it works :)

OMGosh it worked!!! and it only took 10 mins to download!
Isn't this just the cutest button ever?
Hope you are all enjoying the stash that you bought at the last sale. My favs were those cloud buttons and the ballerinas, oh and I really loved the black set ....

Hello, Chantal with you today... :)

Today I'd like to share with you a layout I made using the latest sketch at Stuck?! Sketches.  I've been really getting into sketches lately - they are so inspiring and a terrific starting point aren't they?  Well I've had a lovely time making this layout.  I had the perfect photos to use for this sketch, as soon as I saw the sketch I knew what I wanted to do!  Here I've documented my daughter's 100m Sprint race against her class and.. she WON!  I was super duper proud (of course) and I was so glad I captured these action shots and documented it whilst still fresh in the memory banks! ;)

I've actually machine stitched my "Shore" Light Blue Baker's Twine onto my layout as a border, and tied off the ends into a twine bow.  I was actually suprised how easy it was to machine stitch this twine, as once it was "lined up" in the machine - it was all systems go!  The twine was so easy to stitch because it fit into the "foot" perfectly and all I had to do was guide it.  I will definitely be doing this again!

I've also machine stitched my faux "ribbons" (like the prize ribbons) which are made from patterned paper and photo offcuts!!!  LOL!  Using photo offcuts is certainly one way to match your photos! :D

The doily, XL Zig Zag (or is that Chevron - I don't know the difference, if there even is one) fabric button and rose cabochon are also from Purple Pumpkin's Store.

The white paper I used was handmade (no not by me, by Kmart LOL) and I've masked it with used alpha sticker sheet negatives and misted over the top (all my alpha negative sticker sheets go out in style).  Then I've lightly chalked over this in spots to "warm it up a little" to complement the grass in the photos.  Chalking... now that's a technique that's NOT "so hot right now".  Maybe it's time for a revival! ;)

By the way - there's still time left to get your entries in for May's sketch!  Check out the deets right here!

Thanks so much for your company today and I hope you have a great day!

Until next time!

Cheers,
Chantal :D

Purple Pumpkin vintage!!

Hello everyone!

I made this layout to showcase some Purple Pumpkin goodies!

My layout is based on Melenia's inspirational sketch for Get Creative and the colors are from White with one challenge. (they look a bit yellow but they are cream/vanilla)
I must also say that I was very much inspired by one of my favorite scrappers Belinda Spencer!

This is ME aged around two years old.. I think...LOLOL

The white doily above is also Purple pumpkin!

LESS IS MORE

Good morning ladies, Hope you all had a great weekend, and maybe picked up a few goodies at our sale on Friday night, i know I did!!

Sometimes us scrapbookers get a little carried away with embellishing, that we tend to take focus away from the photo or photos. So by limiting your embellisments to just a few, the photo or photos remains the main focus, and draws your attention to the few embellishments that you have used.
Here are a few pages where i have done using just a few embellishments.

Now a close up of the spotty button

This page was done for Creative Scrappers as part of my DT work.

This green button was perfect for this page.

And now for my last page,

How cute is that pig button.
Well thanks for looking, and enjoy the rest of your day.
Bye for now STACEY

Twine and a Round cork and vinyl flower forms the base of my cluster.

Love the Purple pumpkin hearts and the felt clouds I picked up a while back. They team really well with a small button.  I was sure to also grab some of the new cloud buttons, were they not the cutest eva!!

And here is the full layout... so proud of my little miss, Student of the week in week 7 of her school year and it was for being a responsible and kind class member... she was so proud of herself too :)
